BP-backed FreeWire Technologies presents Mobilyze Pro, an AI platform designed with charge point operators in mind. The tools are to predict the best locations to deploy fast charging stations and forecast operational costs and best returns.

The platform leverages AI to combine public and proprietary datasets, which feed into tools to predict site utilisation, recommend tariffs and calculate profitability for CPOs.

FreeWire adds Mobilyze Pro is designed to help site hosts meet the growing demand for charging infrastructure. Existing site owners can also compare locations and hardware solutions to make their business case.

The product, as such, relies on Mobilyze’s expertise. FreeWire, usually in the business of battery-backed (Boost) charging solutions, acquired Mobilyze.ai last December.

The company says they have since developed several ground-breaking features on the platform, including a profitability calculator to predict operating costs and cash flow based on said utilisation and tariffs.

To make its predictions, the AI analyses charging activity from thousands of public charging locations and correlate it with EV drivers’ travel patterns, demographics, and vehicle ownership, explains FreeWire.

This data then helps to predict how many sessions per day will likely occur at new charging locations and at which price.

The metrics produced by Mobilyze Pro also give CPOs an estimate of the expected operational cost. FreeWire adds the new solution can be combined with the recently announced Charging Location Analysis and Incentive Management (CLAIM) service to identify available federal, state, and utility incentives.

Mobilyze Pro will become available in the US and across four Canadian provinces in Q1/2024. Prior to that, FreeWire will deliver a live product overview at the NACS show in Atlanta on 3 – 6 October.
