Yesterday morning it was held the first meeting between entrepreneurs who belong to the Colombian electro-mobility ecosystem and national Government. Three officers attended the meeting and received the opinions and committed themselves to analyse the topic, modify the draft and present a new one, and at same time hold again these joint meetings.
Representatives of BMW, Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, Porsche, Renault, Citroën, Suzuki, BYD, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Mazda, Enel Codensa, Celsia, Terpel, municipal enterprises of Cali and Pereira and representatives of chargers distributors attended the meeting
It is important to highlight that the resolution project «stating the minimum conditions of standardization and of the market for the implementation of the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in Colombia » shows that the public charging stations must have at least one type 2 plug
According to information received Portal Movilidad could confirm that the discussions were mainly about doubts regarding whether it is a correct election for the market since most of the important brands in the country have type 1 connector.
Critics were received since the information was found in internet and interested parties were not called for a previous meeting.
Others said the standard must not be considered based on the existing vehicle market but on the 600.000 electric units which are desired for the end of the decade according to Government guidelines
In general, the opinion is diverse and they consider that statements from Ministry of Mines and Energy are not convenient to be defined now until not having true grounds on the matter.
Therefore, officers were “listeners” since they recognized the importance of taking into account the opinion of main actors.
The tendency in the industry of electric vehicles importers is type 1. Despite private interests, the consensus is determined since the decision to be taken must be in favour of users.
Consequently, one of the suggestions is that Government shall revise the variables such as which brands achieved a good position of their products and technologies, perspectives and how they see the market in the coming years.
That detail and connectors currently used in the country, shall be reported by Cámara de Vehículos Eléctricos e Híbridos de la Asociación Nacional de Movilidad Sostenible (ANDEMOS – Electric and hybrid Vehicles Chamber of Sustainable Mobility National Association).
In this opportunity, the companies of charging infrastructure were more concrete in their statements and pointed out the importance to standardize to facilitate investments and generate trust.
